The conference also significantly emphasised gas’s role in transforming the power and heating sector. Discussions focused on LNG, the development of low-carbon technologies, and investments in biogas, biomethane, and hydrogen as fuels of the future.
A panel on green energy highlighted the crucial importance of renewable energy sources, energy storage, and modern infrastructure solutions. The panel also addressed the need to simplify investment processes, adjust regulations, and promote the decentralised energy model.
Issues related to the development of nuclear power in Poland also existed. The experts addressed safety, nuclear project financing, the development of SMRs, and the participation of Polish suppliers in the domestic value chain.
An important highlight of the program was a block devoted to financing the energy transition. Discussions focused on the role of green financial instruments, public-private partnerships, and the impact of ESG regulations and standards on investment decisions and sector development.
On the second day, participants focused on the future of electricity grids. They considered the importance of smart metering, digitalisation and new tariff models as conditions for a stable, modern infrastructure.
A panel on digitisation in the power industry highlighted the role of data, artificial intelligence and cybersecurity in modern power system management. Experts also discussed the impact of regulations such as NIS2, the AI Act and ISO standards on the sector.
In the context of wind power development, the need to modernise transmission infrastructure, develop offshore farms, facilitate legislative processes, and implement innovative technologies to increase turbine efficiency was emphasised.
The conference ended with a block devoted to Poland’s technological sovereignty. It emphasised the importance of developing the potential of domestic manufacturing companies, supporting local content and strengthening the domestic supply chain as the foundation for the country’s energy and technological independence.
41st EuroPOWER & OZE POWER confirmed that Poland’s energy sector is at a key moment of transformation. Cooperation between the public sector, the private sector and the scientific world is becoming a prerequisite for the successful implementation of innovation and the achievement of ambitious climate goals. The event invariably remains a venue for debate about the future of the Polish and European energy sector.
