9th-10th November 2016 in Warsaw took place the 24th edition of the Energy Conference EuroPOWER. The event was devoted to the latest trends prevailing at the market and the current problems and challenges which are concerning energy sector. The Conference was attended by over 570 guests. Among them were presidents and board members of major energy companies, representatives of government including the controller, representatives of science and members of Chamber of Economic.
Honorary guests of the event were Secretary of State in the Ministry of Energy – Grzegorz Tobiszowski and Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of Development – Jadwiga Emilewicz.
First day of the conference was focused on the diagnosis of the Polish economy situation, industrial policies and process of energy sector modernization. The discussion was also about the strategy of Polish economy development including priorities and conditions to fill as well as about the electricity market. Important part of the event was the debate about the structure of electricity generation, during which participants attempted to answer the question what kind of energy mix will determine energy policy.
The discussion was attended by Andrzej Piotrowski – Undersecretary of State, Ministry of Energy, Dariusz Kaśków – President of the Management Board, Energa, Piotr Woźniak – President of the Management Board, Polskie Górnictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo, Maciej Bando – President of Energy Regulatory Office, Jarosław Broda – Vicepresident of the Management Board, TAURON Polska Energia, Eryk Kłossowski – President of the Management Board, PSE Polskie Sieci Elektroenergetyczne.
The second day of the Conference was opened by discussion panel on the security of gas supplies to Polish, EU package of winter and the future of the gas and fuels market. There was also debate about Polish idea of a modern energy which main issue was electromobility. The ending panel of the second day was focused on the market for electricity and gas and also about new developments and market trends in the assessment of customers and suppliers.
