40 edition of the EuroPOWER & OZE POWER Energy Conference will take place on November 7-8, 2024, at The Westin Warsaw Hotel. Experts and leaders of the energy sector have created the first draft of the agenda, which will cover both current and future energy challenges in Poland. The congress will address key challenges and opportunities related to Poland’s energy transition and outline future directions for action.
The opening theme of the congress will be transforming the energy sector towards sustainable and renewable energy sources in the face of global climate change. The inaugural debate will include an assessment of the current energy situation, the impact of EU climate policy, Poland’s long-term climate goals, and the role of the government and local authorities in promoting energy transformation.
An important issue will be the gas and fuel sectors, which are fundamental to many industries and significant energy consumers, playing a key role in the Polish economy. The panel discussion will focus on discussing current problems and challenges in these sectors and identifying possible directions for action in the context of dynamic changes in the global energy market and challenges related to climate policy.
In the digital age, the energy sector is increasingly exposed to cyber threats, which can lead to severe disruptions in energy supplies and threaten national security. Experts will discuss current issues related to energy cybersecurity in Poland, highlighting key challenges and developing effective protection strategies.
The analysis of wind energy development and production trends will be another significant topic addressed at the congress. The discussion will focus on identifying major challenges, such as increasing transparency in the process of granting grid connection conditions and issues with local acceptance of wind farms. Topics will also include wind energy storage issues, and locational and distance barriers hindering the development of onshore and offshore wind energy.
Biogas and biomethane in Poland will also be in the spotlight. The discussion panel will review the current state of the sector, analyze existing legal regulations and grant programs, address challenges related to infrastructure, innovative production technologies, and development scenarios for the biogas and biomethane sectors by 2030 and 2050, including their applications in transport.
The issue of nuclear energy, offering stable low-CO2 energy supplies, will also be analyzed. The debate will cover investment implementation timelines, safety standards, risk management, construction and operation costs, financing models, long-term waste management strategies, and the integration of nuclear technologies with renewable energy sources.
In the era of digital transformation, data plays a crucial role in optimizing the energy sector in Poland. The discussion panel will focus on challenges related to privacy, security, and system integration, as well as the role of artificial intelligence and machine learning in data analysis, improving energy efficiency, and managing ESG.
Distribution networks, a key element of the energy system, are also part of the congress agenda. The discussion will include the role of investments in the expansion and maintenance of networks, adapting infrastructure to variable energy sources, modern monitoring and automation technologies, and collaboration between the government and the private sector in financing these projects.
Energy financing, as a key challenge for Poland in the context of sustainable development and energy transition, requires significant investments. Experts will discuss current sources of financing, the impact of financial and economic policies, and innovative investment models, pointing to potential solutions for Poland’s energy sector.
District heating, crucial for Poland’s energy sector, will also be a topic of debate. Discussions will focus on technologies that enhance energy efficiency, integrating renewable energy sources, public-private partnerships, and innovations in district heating to highlight best practices and solutions for sustainable sector development.
The congress will serve as a forum for discussions on investments, profits, and challenges related to transitioning production to serve renewable and emission-free sources, as well as the potential impact of future technologies on the development of electromobility in Poland.
